Final Film Of Jonathan Harris Makes World Premiere At The 2010 SBIFF

21st January 2010

SANTA BARBARA, California (January 19, 2010) – Filmmaker John Wardlaw will premiere his animated short film, The Bolt Who Screwed Christmas, at the 2010 Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF). The film features voice work by actor Jonathan Harris who narrates the film and voices the Grinch-like character of “The Bolt”.

Harris (A Bugs Life, Toy Story 2), who may be best known for his role of “Dr. Smith” in the TV series Lost In Space, passed away not long after his recording session with Mr. Wardlaw, making The Bolt Who Screwed Christmas his final film. Harris was a “Best Animation Voice Over (Male) Nominee for his performance of “The Bolt” in the Los Angeles Reel Film Festival (LARFF 2009).

Set in the town of Screwville, the holiday parody features a memorable  set of characters voiced by Tress MacNeille (Simpsons, Futurama) and Harris’ Lost in Space co-stars Angela Cartwright, Marta Kristen and Bill Mumy. This is not the first time that Santa Barbara based filmmaker John  Wardlaw has had a film in the SBIFF. His film “Chessmaster Theatre” was featured in the 1995 SBIFF, won a Bronze Telly Award and toured the world with the Spike and Mike Festival of Animation.

Nominated for awards in nine categories in the 2009 Los Angeles Reel Film Festival and winning Best Animated Concept, Best Animated Characters and second place for Best Animation, The Bolt Who Screwed Christmas will make its theatrical world premiere as part of “SB Animations” during the 2010 Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

The first screening will be on Saturday February 6th, 6:30pm at Victoria Hall Theatre. The second screening will be on Tuesday, February 9th, 4:45pm at the Metro 4 Theatre IV. Visit the SBIFF web site for more details.
